Message from Our CEO
Welcome - thank you for stopping by!
Launching The Brain Bodega, becoming a CEO and founder, is a dream come true! Doing what I’m passionate about doesn’t feel like work – it’s my mission to help all students learn. My journey to becoming an Education Specialist and Ed. Technologist started when I made the leap from HCI (Human-computer Interactions), into the world of education. As a result, I have spent almost 20 years in formal and informal education, including time as a NYC teacher, as a graduate researcher, an education software developer, a program developer, director of outreach, and as a CLO (Chief Learning Officer) building an education technology company from the ground up.
Learning isn’t just something I preach, it’s also something I practice. After finishing my Ed.S. at the University of Virginia, I made the decision to pursue my Ph.D., furthering my investigation into the use of Education Technologies to support all learners. So, launching my own education services company was a “no brainer” and a natural next step for me.
As a childhood cancer survivor, I understand the long-term effects of medical issues, and how treatments like chemotherapy and radiation can impact an individual’s ability to focus and learn. It is my personal mission to help people understand that having a learning challenge doesn’t equate to having a deficit in intelligence – more simply put, just because a person learns differently or at a different pace it doesn’t mean they can’t learn.
My professional and personal experiences push me to rethink how learning happens for students. By taking the time to know each student’s challenges and personalities, I have been able to help get students the support that they need to reach their goals and become their best selves.
